DEWANI RAKES IN £16M Murder hubby’s wad

-

A FIRM run by the man cleared of plotting his wife’s honeymoon murder raked in £16million in two years.

Businessman Shrien Dewani was found not guilty of organising a hit on new wife Anni in 2010.

Shrien, 37, saw his PSP Holdings take £11m in 2015 and £4.5m last year.

Newly filed accounts at Companies House reveal the investment business made 30% gross profit – meaning PSP banked £5m.

The Bristol-based firm, run by Shrien and brother Preyen, 39, has also built up £20m in assets.

The Dewani brothers previously oversaw the running of nursing homes.

But their accounts revealed the company has ceased running those and “restructured to focus on investment opportunities”.

Shrien and Preyen now appear to be concentrating on property investment, with another note on the accounts mentioning their desire to earn cash from “rental yield and capital growth”.

Newlywed Shrien was mired in scandal when his Swedish wife Anni was shot dead in a car-jacking during their 2010 South African honeymoon. One of her killers, taxi driver Zola Tongo, then claimed Shrien had taken out a hit on his bride. The Brit was then extradited to South Africa to face trial following a lengthy legal battle in 2014. But he was cleared of any wrongdoing the same year after the country’s Western Cape High Court ruled there was no evidence to support the allegations against him. Shrien revealed he was bisexual in court after Birminghambased male prostitute Leopold Leisser claimed the businessman had paid him £400-a-time for sex sessions where he would humiliate and racially abuse him. Shrien told the court: “I have had sexual interaction with both males and females. I consider myself to be bisexual. “My sexual interactions with females were usually during the course of a relationship which consisted of other activities and emotional attachment.” Tongo and two other men, Mziwamadoda Qwabe and Xolile Mngeni were given life jail terms for their role in the killing.
