MATT HELD AT GUNPOINT IN ALARM MIX-UP

-

TERRIFIED X Factor winner Matt Terry was held at gunpoint by US police officers after being accused of burglary.

Two gun-wielding cops pulled their weapons on the scared singer because they suspected him of robbing the recording studio he was working in.

The officers then threatened to arrest the horrified star, who had accidentally set off the studio’s alarm system.

Matt’s initial pleas of innocence were ignored by the Miami Police Department response car until a worker turned up to the empty studio and collaborated his claims.

I’m told the incident, at the Kiss The Chief Studios, left Matt fearing for his life.

My US source said: “Matt was absolutely terrified. One minute he had set off the studio’s alarm system by mistake and the next two cops pulled up in a car and drew their weapons on him.

“Even though they were police officers Matt was obviously petrified and for a few seconds did wonder if he would be shot dead.

“He tried to explain who he was and what he was doing but the officers didn’t believe him until someone else turned up and verified he was supposed to be there.

“The officers then just got back in their car and drove off without another word, leaving Matt in complete shock.”

Matt had been in Miami recording tracks for his debut album for a week when he set off the alarm by mistake on Thursday. I’m told he tried to call his record label RCA but police were already on the scene before anyone else turned up to help him. As you can see from my exclusive beach shot, the popular singer had been enjoying his time away in the sun before the mix-up. While in the US Matt has been recording songs in both English and Spanish in the hope of breaking America’s huge Latino scene. My source added: “Matt’s been having a brilliant time apart from those few minutes thinking he was a goner.”
