Yoga and art in Ant’s rehab regime

-

TROUBLED Ant McPartlin is fighting his addictions with yoga, art therapy and by writing his memoirs.

After admitting depression led to an addiction to prescription drugs and battles with alcohol and substance abuse, the TV star checked into rehab.

And he is now spending his days working through a rigorous programme.

A source close to his family revealed the first stage in Ant’s recovery will be detox to overcome the physical symptoms of addiction. They said: “At this stage, Ant will be spending most of his time FELICITY CROSS sleeping. From then on it’s a full day-to-day recovery schedule.”

Holistic activities play a major part in the programme.

Meditation and still-life drawing are currently said to be on Ant’s roster.

The star, who is worth around £60million, is also taking part in yoga classes and has been encouraged to write about his life. Our source added: “Ant is spending time with counsellors or psychiatrists.

“They will be working through some issues and reflecting on them.” Ant’s anguish began two years ago when he was left in agony following failed surgery to fix a cartilage problem in his knee.

The injury has prevented him playing golf, his favourite way to relax. And to numb the pain, Ant, 41, began taking the powerful prescription-only painkiller Tramadol, becoming dangerously hooked on the drug.

He is now expected to spend at least two months in rehab.
