ROSS KEMP: I WAS ON KILLER’S HIT LIST

ROSS KEMP WORLD EXCLUSIVE

ROSS Kemp has revealed mass killer Anders Breivik had him on a “hit list” – and other far-right extremists still want him dead.

The TV hardman believes that his documentaries exposing Nazi groups have made him a target.

Breivik, who committed mass murder in a terror attack in Norway six years ago, listed Kemp as a “race traitor” in his so-called manifesto.

The killer is now in jail but Ross thinks he is still at risk of being “removed”.

Kemp told the Daily Star Sunday: “I got a call and was told Anders had a hit list and I was on it.

“Over the years I’ve made about seven programmes exposing Nazi organisations around the globe…and he was a Nazi.

“So maybe it was because I make libertarian films and I tell the truth and expose right-wing organisations. It made me think I must be doing something right.

“It was a bit of a shock. He’d already done the damage he was going to do and he was already in prison by this point.

“But I know there are other rightwing extremists who have put me on a list of people they want to remove.”

Kemp has been risking his life as an investigative journalist for 14 years.

His Extreme World series for Sky 1 has seen him kidnapped and shot at in war zones.

But Kemp said: “I’m not a nurse, I’m not a fireman, I’m not a soldier. I’m not doing it day in, day out.

“We have risk assessments so it’s a calculated risk. The biggest conern I have is not about myself, it’s for the fixers on the ground. Without them we could not make the programmes.

“My fear is we go in there, muddy the waters and then go while they’re at risk. There is a far more potentially dangerous situation for them.”

Kemp has two children aged six and two but he doesn’t fear leaving them without a dad when he puts his life at risk. He added: “It’s a bit like playing rugby. If you go into a tackle half-heartedly, expecting to get hurt then you generally get hurt. You have to go with 100% in what you do. “When I get home I spend all my time with my family. When you do a nine to five job like I have in the past you leave your kids in the morning and by the time you get back they’re in bed. “So while I’ve risked my life with my job, when I’m home I can spend a lot of time with my kids.” The sixth series of Extreme World kicks off tonight with an episode about race wars in the US since Donald Trump was elected. Kemp put his life on the line again at a protest that saw black militia and white supremacists clash. He said: “The protest was potentially lethal. There were enough guns to start a small war. There were snipers on the roof and there were 1,000 police officers there heavily armed. “It was surprising to me it didn’t end in gunfire.” ExtremeWorld is back tonight at 9pm on Sky1.
