Craig: I want to marry Camilla
LOVE-STRUCK Craig Lawson has confessed he wants to marry “ultimate wife” Camilla Thurlow.
The pair got close in the Love Island villa before he was booted off last week.
Since then Camilla has fallen for Jamie Jewitt but hunky Craig is still hoping that he can have a future with her.
In an exclusive chat, Craig said: “Me and Camilla made plans to meet up outside of the show and I’d even love to have Camilla just as a friend.
“But it would be a shame if there wasn’t any romance.
“I’d love to get to know her more as a person. I feel the same about her now as I did when I went into the show, if not even more.
“I’d love to see her and see if things could progress. What bloke wouldn’t?
“She’s the ultimate wife. I suppose I’ll have to wait and see when she’s out.
“What’s not to love about Camilla? She was my favourite, just like she was for everyone else.”
Personal trainer Craig was sent in by producers as part of a twist to spice up the show. Before that he had been watching the show every night and fell for Camilla even before he met her. Craig said: “I liked her just like the nation did. I know that it came across as strong. “But I’d watched the show for three weeks so I felt like I’d built a connection with her before I went in. “I was a fan of Camilla before I went in and after meeting her I’m an even bigger fan.
“I was one of the people who felt for her in the Jonny situation and wanted to be a shoulder for her to cry on and wanted to protect her. When I got to know her she was even better in person.”
Some viewers were convinced Craig faked his interest in Camilla because he knew she was popular.
Hitting back, he said: “I liked Camilla a lot, just like the nation.
“But that doesn’t make me a gameplayer – that makes me a normal person.
“Being accused of pretending was probably the worst thing for me. The feelings I had were real.
“It’s hard for me to grasp the idea that people think it wasn’t real.
“But so long as Camilla doesn’t feel that way, it’s OK.
“I went in there all guns blazing and obviously tried to hit it off with her. “I wore my heart on my sleeve 100%. I’m an all-or-nothing type of person. “Apparently I made her couple of days really special and she was really happy and came out of her shell.
“So I don’t regret it. I feel like I’ve done a good thing.
“I would never do anything to hurt Camilla. So putting on a front and lying is not something I would have done.”
