LA COPS ARREST LUKAKU ‘THE NOISY NEIGHBOUR’

£75m footballer ‘handcuffed at Beverly Hills mansion party’

-

PREMIER League striker Romelu Lukaku was arrested during a wild party at his rented mansion in Beverly Hills. Police in Los Angeles reportedly handcuffed the 24 year old astre being called six times by neighbours complaining about noise.

Lukaku is thought to be in LA for a medical before completing a 73million transfer from Everton to Manchester United.

Ironically, it was ”United’s ex-boss Sir Alex Ferguson who coined the phrase “noisy neighbours” when talking about rivals Manchester City.

Beverly Hills Police yesterday confirmed Lukaku was arrested and immediately released after being issued with a citation for disturbing the peace.

They said the Belgian international, who played at the 2014 World Cup and last year’s Euros, will appear in court in early October where a judge is likely to impose a fine on the star. The player’s pal and would-be teammate Paul Pogba was also at the party after they met up in LA.

But no-one else was involved in the confrontation with two officers, according to police.

A spokesman said: “Mr Lukaku was not taken to a holding cell or central booking.

“He has not been formally charged but must now respond to the citation he has been given for a misdemeanour offence.”

His arrest, early last Sunday morning, comes ahead of his dream move to United.

He will reunite with his old Chelsea boss José Mourinho, who is now in charge at Old Trafford.

Both Lukaku and Pogba – who share the same agent, Mino Raiola – are expected to link-up with the rest of the United squad this week.

The team is due to fly to Los Angeles for a preseason tour that kicks off against David Beckham’s former MLS side LA Galaxy on Saturday.

Yesterday United’s website said the club was “delighted to announce that it has agreed a fee with Everton for the transfer of Romelu Lukaku”.

It added: “A further announcement will be made in due course.”
