Brother star Simone Reed has turned to religion to get her life on track.

Eight years ago she was sentenced to six months behind bars after being found guilty of affray.

She is now hoping God will help her move on from her past.

After being booted out of BB, Simone told us: “I went to a church before I went into the Big Brother house and I got cleansed.

“I’ve let Jesus into my life so I know that my life is only going to get better now.

“I believe maybe I ■

was a bad person before, but I believe God will carry me on my way.”

Earlier this month we exposed Simone’s criminal past.

The story sparked outrage from viewers who were angry that bosses had picked her for the show. ■ Simone said: “I can totally understand where those comments are coming from.

“But I have absolutely changed my life around from years ago. I wasn’t a nice person back then.

“I hope people can see I’m different now. To sit in Big Brother and be nice made me realise I’ve turned things around.”

Simone struggled with heartache while in BB after losing her 18-year-old brother just months ago. ■ She added: “I’m still grieving. I probably need more counselling.

“Going in there was a challenge for me. And I think I did well. No-one understood my pain.”

Simone was shunned by her housemates while in BB and only grew close to Sue Evans.

She said: “I went in that house to have fun. I didn’t want to take it seriously.

“But I was misunderstood. They didn’t understand me because they didn’t know me. They didn’t feel like it was worth getting to know me. They rejected me.”
