DWIGHT FLOGS £2.2 M HOME
Pool-loving former striker aims to pot a fortune
FORMER Manchester United goal machine Dwight Yorke has put his swish mansion on the market at £2.2million.
Photos of the red brick property show a multi-coloured bar with red velvet “tulip” seats plus twin pool and snooker tables.
The room, which has green strip lights in the ceiling, boasts a painting of film legend Al Pacino.
Cricket fan Yorke, 45, whose brother played for Trinidad and Tobago, also has a limited edition bat mounted in a glass case.
The majestic main bedroom boasts a leopard-print sofa as well as a large walk-in wardrobe. And the exstriker, who is dad to Katie Price’s eldest son Harvey, 15, has installed a king-size bed along with a huge shower with a glass brick wall.
In the kitchen there are glossy black and white units, white leather sofas, pink floor mats and matching black, white and pink curtains.
The agent selling the home, which has been on sale since March, calls it: “A fabulous detached modern family house within walking distance of the village with a wonderful 6,000 sq ft of grand accommodation designed for family living and entertaining.”
The house is in Alderley Edge, Cheshire, one of Britain’s poshest areas.
The village is popular with football stars from nearby United and rivals Manchester City.
Yorke signed for United from Aston Villa in 1998 for a fee of £12.6m. He went on to form a legendary striking partnership with Andrew Cole.
Yorke scored 65 goals for the Old Trafford side in his 147 appearances before joining Blackburn Rovers in 2002.
This month it was revealed that a bankruptcy petition made against Yorke had been dropped when it emerged that the amount he owed had fallen below £5,000.
Creditors can petition for someone who owes them money to be made bankrupt only when they owe £5,000 or more.
Yorke was not present at the hearing at London’s Bankruptcy and Companies Court.
Since his footballing days he has turned his talent to coaching schoolchildren as part of an FA and Uefa Coaching Football Award.
