JACOBS’ Crackers

Five-time Naps Table champ Moorestyle’s best bets…

-

SUNDAY SERVICE THE step up to two-and-ahalf miles looks a huge plus for CESAR ET ROSALIE (2.00 Perth) and the lightly raced five-yearold looks a solid selection to land the nap today.

On each of his four runs over hurdles the son of Network has been staying on strongly over two miles and he should not be troubled to land a race of this nature under Tom Scudamore.

The Colin McBratneytrained Triolet looks his biggest danger after running down the field in a decent novice hurdle at Roscommon but he does not have the scope of the selection.

“Scu” should double up in the staying chase aboard the Gordon Elliott-trained URTHEONEIWANT (3.05) in the staying chase.

This is the first time the Kayf Tara gelding has run over three miles over fences and he can take advantage of a very fair handicap mark of just 108.

Since winning the Pertemps Hurdle Final, CALL THE COPS’ rating has fallen from 153 to 117 but he can finally return to winning form in the 2.30.

The big race in Ireland is the Group Two Kilboy Estate Stakes and gives TURRET ROCKS (3.10 Curragh) a solid chance of returning to winning form.

Trained by Jim Bolger (above), the filly ran out of her skin to finish third in the Group One Pretty Polly Stakes and should have too much speed for Laganore.

The best bet at Southwell could be an each-way wager on PERSHING (3.25). New trainer Olly Stevens has booked Richard Johnson for the six-year-old.

HOT TO TROT BLAKENEY POINT ran a cracking race dropped to 12 furlongs last week in the Old Newton Cup at Haydock finishing best of all down the outside after being outpaced at the top of the straight. The intermediate trip of the Ebor next month looks the obvious destination for Roger Charlton’s four-year-old. KASPERENKO. He was one of the most decisive winners of the week at Doncaster, easing clear of some fair rivals on the bridle. This hugely progressive three-year-old must be followed wherever he goes next.

ANTE-POST It was good to see the bookies pricing up the Lennox Stakes at Goodwood (August 1) and Diamond Jubilee Stakes’ fourth LIBIRZA BREEZE looks primed for this.

He was never getting to the leaders at Royal Ascot but it was a fine run in the circumstances and at around 8-1 he looks solid each-way value to account for Dutch Connection.
