‘Kids call in fear of bombs’

CHILDLINE ■

ambassador Geri Horner has revealed calls to the children’s charity have rocketed due to recent terrorist attacks.

The former Spice Girl said more youngsters have sought advice since the incidents in Manchester and London.

Pop icon Geri said: “Childline have been going for 30 years. They now have to deal with everything from abuse, cyber bullying, to the terrorist attacks.

“Calls increased ■

following the terrorist attacks and they are now having to deal with a whole new set of problems they didn’t have before.”

Ginger Spice recently became a patron of the children’s charity to follow in the footsteps of pal George Michael.

George secretly gave millions to the charity over the years, including donating royalties from No.1 hit Jesus To A Child.

Geri’s charity single Angels In Chains was inspired by him.

She said: “I wanted ■

some good to come out of George’s death.

“The whole thing is bittersweet. I’m sad because I wouldn’t have written the song if he hadn’t have died, but it’s also continuing his charity work.”

Geri added that her work with Esther Rantzen’s charity, set up in 1986, had made her realise that “people are actually kind”.
