favourite Camilla Thurlow of being fake. The Blue singer doesn’t believe the posh islander is as innocent as she makes out.

Defending his mate and axed contestant Craig Lawson, who was accused of putting on a showmance with Camilla, Simon said: “Craig was misunderstood by the public. People said he had studied her and played a game but he was 100% genuine. He’s a good friend of mine and doesn’t have a bad bone in his body.”

Shy Camilla is now being backed to win the ITV2 show along with Calvin Klein model Jamie Jewitt.

But Simon added: “I’m just not sure about her now, I’m not sure she’s actually genuine. She’s always hot and cold and as a result she is always in the headlines, so who is playing the game?”

Simon’s new album Smile is released on August 25.
