ARISE, LORD STAGG

- ■ EXCLUSIVE by ISOBEL DICKINSON

THE man wrongly blamed for Rachel Nickell’s murder has made himself a Lord.

Colin Stagg bought his title and a tiny plot of land for £30. Scottish “laird” so he could get VIP treatment.

He said: “Henceforth I shall be known as the laird of Loch Borralan.”

Colin forked out £30 for a square foot of a remote highland glen not far from Ullapool in the west of Scotland.

It brought with it the lairdship, according to Regency Titles of Bournemouth.

Proud Colin said: “It will come in handy booking restaurant tables and getting VI treatment at airports.” However, another man says the land is his.

The plot, together with the nearby Alt Motel and trout fishery, has been owned for years by Bruce Ward.

He warned: “People are just wasting their money on fake land title deeds that mean nothing.

“We got so fed up that we called in police who are investigating for fraud.”

But Colin added: “I don’t care – it now says I’m a Lord on my passport.”
