A new Day dawns

WHAT a difference a day made for Australian superstar Jason Day.

The world No.6 (left) stormed away from Royal Birkdale on Friday believing he had missed the cut after a sloppy 76.

But he later discovered he was still in and returned to fire a breathtaking 65 to move to level par – and leave this time with a smile on his face.

He said: “Yes, it was a lot more fun today. There were a lot of people with a lot of smiles walking off today.

“Not like Friday. I honestly thought I had missed the cut and that’s why I stormed off after a bad finish.”
