‘I don’t go to supermarket for meat... I kill it myself’
A SINGLE mum has become an internet hit by spurning supermarkets and hunting all her own meat.
Lisa Taylor has uploaded photos to her Facebook page of her shooting, butchering and then eating animals including deer, wild boar and rabbits.
And her endeavours have attracted thousands of fans, including 15,600 on Facebook, and another 1,200 on Instagram.
Lisa said: “I’m a girl who hunts and cooks. This is my way of meat shopping. I love eating meat, and will hunt my own meat.”
On another photo of herself butchering seven animals, she wrote: “A job that has to be done.
“But after eating my venison and wild boar stew I always need to top my freezer up.”
Lisa, of Surrey, who manages a deer park, insists that shooting her own food is humane and more ethical than eating animals that have lived short, uncomfortable lives on factory farms.
She regularly shows off her large rifle with its £1,200 night vision attachment.
Lisa also shoots foxes, to the anger of many on her Facebook feed, but insists she does so to protect her farm animals.
She also feeds the foxes’ flesh to her female goshawk, which helps her hunt rabbits.
Despite Lisa’s organic approach to meat, many animal lovers have condemned her on Facebook, with some blasting the selfies she takes next to the bloodied corpses of animals she claims to “respect”.
One critic called Padraig Hannifin wrote: “Why celebrate this? I’m from a sheep farming family so I get why it’s done but I don’t get the pride or glee of killing an animal.
“I never felt it when a fox was killed or when we brought the lambs to get done.” Another called Debbie Reynolds said Lisa had “nothing to be proud of ”.
A third critic suggested Lisa was likely to be reincarnated as one of the foxes she hunts.
A spokesman for animal rights charity Peta also blasted Lisa, claiming she is “callous” and “clearly desperate for attention”.
But Lisa has hit back at her critics, writing under one such post: “I love eating meat and I will hunt my own meat. Nothing gets wasted. So before you jump to conclusions ask me rather than throw abuse.”
