Day 1: Friday, August 4 USAIN BOLT starts the countdown to his retirement in the men’s 100m heats while Laura Muir runs in the 1,500m heats. The showpiece of the opening day is Sir Mo Farah’s 10,000m final as he bids to sign off from the track in style. Day 2: Saturday, August 5

Bolt looks to complete the first of his goals in the 100m final while Katarina Johnson-Thompson has the chance to prove there is life after Jessica Ennis-Hill in the heptathlon and Muir is due to run in the 1,500m semi-final. Day 3: Sunday, August 6

Johnson-Thompson returns for the second day of the heptathlon, European indoor champion Andrew Pozzi begins his 110m hurdles bid and Asha Philip will aim to reach the evening’s women’s 100m final, along with Jamaica’s double Olympic champion Elaine Thompson aiming for gold.

Day 4: Monday, August 7 Muir is likely to battle Faith Kipyegon and Genzebe Dibaba for a 1,500m medal in the final. Day 5: Tuesday, August 8

Holland’s Dafne Schippers starts the defence of her 200m crown with Britons Shannon Hylton, Bianca Williams and Dina Asher-Smith all aiming for the podium. Matt Hudson-Smith, Dwayne Cowan and Martyn Rooney (right) will have aimed to reach the evening’s 400m final. Day 6: Wednesday, August 9 The men’s 200m semi-finals and the women’s 400m final. Day 7: Thursday, August 10

The men’s 200m final will see a new world champion crowned in the absence of Bolt, while Muir returns for the 5,000m heats. Day 8: Friday, August 11 The women’s 200m final ends the day’s competitio­n with Schippers one of the favourites, while the day also includes the final of the men’s hammer, final of the women’s long jump and women’s 3,000m steeplecha­se final. Day 9: Saturday, August 12th Farah runs in the 5,000m final as his track career edges to a close and the men’s 4x100m relay also takes centre stage in Bolt’s final race. Day 10: Sunday, August 13 The final day and the final chance for Muir to add to her European Indoor medals from Belgrade in March in the 5,000m. The women’s 800m final and 4x400m men and women’s relay finals end the Championsh­ips.
