TRACK legend Usain Bolt signed off last night with a shock bronze at the end of his record-busting career.

The Jamaican star, 30, failed to gain his 26th gold medal in international athletics after finishing third in last night’s 100m final.

In his final solo race at the World Athletics Championships, the flamboyant sprinter was beaten to gold by American former drug cheat Justin Gatlin at the London Stadium.

The eight-time Olympic champion is due to take take part in this Saturday’s 4x100m relay with the Jamaican team a shoo-in for the final.

He originally said he would retire after the 2016 Rio Games but claimed his sponsors convinced him to go on for another year.

Bolt, who is the first person to hold both the 100m and

200m world records, calls time on the sport while still the fastest human on the planet.

His incredible medal haul in international running includes 25 golds, seven silvers and two bronzes.

And Britain’s Jo Pavey got her first World Championship medal – 10 years after the event.

Jo, 43, was awarded the

10,000m bronze from Osaka

2007 after being upgraded from fourth place as the original silver medallist was exposed as a drugs cheat.
