I’m A Celeb? It’s to die for, says Street star Jane

CORRIE star Jane Danson turned down I’m A Celebrity as she feared she would be the first star “to die” in the jungle.

The telly favourite, who is known to millions as Leanne Battersby, was offered a big-money deal.

Jungle chiefs were desperate to sign her up for the new series, which kicks off in November.

She is one of TV’s most recognisable faces after playing Leanne on Corrie for 20 years.

Jane has confirmed to the Daily Star Sunday she rejected the offer.

Talking about whether she’d ever do the show, she added: “Oh God, definitely not… I’d be the first celebrity to die in there.”

Jane is regularly offered prime time reality shows but is yet to sign up for anything. She added: “I don’t know about Strictly either… I can’t really dance anyway. I also think I’d be really dull to watch.” Jane, left, is the latest big-name telly star to turn down an offer from I’m A Celeb producers. Loose Women star Lisa Riley and The Chase’s Mark Labbett refused to take part. James Hewitt, Natasha Kaplinsky and Alex Salmond have also snubbed the show in the past. Bosses now face a race against time to get a strong line-up.

The show is already in crisis because presenter Ant is currently in rehab, meaning he may not be able to co-host alongside Dec for the first time in the show’s history.

Names already rumoured for this year’s run including Jamie Vardy’s wife Rebekah, ex-Corrie star Ryan Thomas and reality playboy Calum Best.
