‘ED-CASE’ KYLE MUST COOL IT

- ■ by GARY FITZGERALD

WARNING: Eddie Jones EDDIE JONES has read the riot act to his England stars after giving “hot-head” Kyle Sinckler a severe warning over his future conduct.

Head coach Jones warned Harlequins youngster Sinckler to learn from his Lions shame of being arrested by the New Zealand police following a late-night drinking session.

Sinckler became the latest England player to get in hot water while on the other side of the world when he was involved in a disorderly incident in Auckland city centre. The tighthead prop, 24, was celebrating the 1-1 series draw with the All Blacks.

Now Jones is threatening to come down hard on Sinckler and anyone else stepping out of line in the build-up to the Japan World Cup.

Jones said: “Kyle did pretty well on the field for the Lions but off it he’s got to understand that the team comes before the individual. I told him you need to pick the right place to have a drink. After the third Test for the Lions you don’t go to a crowded club in Auckland.

“You’re going to have every idiot in Auckland wanting to take him on because they know he’s a hot-head.

“Experienced players don’t go to those clubs. It’s not a black mark against Kyle but it will be if he does it again.

“It’s a part of the learning experience. But if they don’t learn from it they are in strife.”
