CHINA has asked Donald Trump to mind his language in his row with North Korea.

The plea came after threats were made by the US and the leader of the rogue state as the crisis deepened.

Chinese President Xi Jinping rang Donald Trump yesterday and stressed the need for diplomacy.

North Korea has vowed to “mercilessly wipe out provocateurs” and hand the US a “final doom”.

Kim Jong-un, left, issued the warning after President Trump vowed to unleash “fire and fury like the world has never seen” if the North Koreans make any more threats to the US.

In a tweet Mr Trump said: “Military solutions are now fully in place, locked and loaded, should North Korea act unwisely. Hopefully Kim Jong-un will find another path!”

Chinese leader Mr Xi, in his call to Mr Trump, said: “At present, relevant parties should exercise restraint and avoid words and actions that would escalate tensions on the Korean Peninsula.”

Mr Xi said China and the US shared “common interests” over de-nuclearisation and maintaining peace on the peninsula.

Tensions peaked on Thursday as Mr Trump appeared to threaten Pyongyang with nuclear war if Kim Jong-un carried on his threats against the US or its allies.

The US leader hit out as it emerged North Korea had a miniaturised nuclear warhead. North Korea also threatened to hit the waters off the US Pacific territory of Guam with missiles.
