Nemanja all set to Go West

- ■ EXCLUSIVE by JIMMY McCLOSKEY

DISGRACED Rolf Harris was called a “dirty bastard” by a fellow shopper in a DIY store.

Our exclusive pictures show Harris, 87, visiting Screwfix in Maidenhead, Berks, on a rare outing.

The pervert was dropped off at the building supplies shop by a family friend.

He then spent around 15 minutes in the store, buying cable ties, rawl plugs and screws.

But one person took exception to the paedophile former TV star’s presence.

A shopper who witnessed last Thursday’s excursion explained: “Rolf kept his head down and obviously didn’t want to be recognised.

“But most people who saw him instantly knew who it was.

“You could see some of them doing a double take.

“He walked past one group of three young builders who started talking about him among themselves.

“One of whom called him a ‘dirty bastard’.

“Rolf definitely heard it but there was no reaction from him.”

Harris was last photographed heading to a police station in Windsor, Berks, in June, a month after he was released from jail.

But trips out of the house are now extremely rare.

Despite his advancing years and time in prison, he appeared to be in good health during his shopping trip.

Artist Harris also carried a pencil and paper in his shirt pocket.

Since his release, he has kept a low profile and spent much of his time caring for ailing wife Alwen, 85.

She became a virtual recluse while he was in prison, with her ill-health making the eight-hour round trip to HMP Stafford impossible.

Harris was sentenced to five years and nine months behind bars in 2014 for indecently assaulting four girls, one of whom was aged just seven or eight.

He was freed after serving almost three years.

In May this year he was cleared of a further four counts of indecent assault.

Harris is said to be planning to appeal against his convictions amid claims he is also desperate to relaunch his TV career. MANCHESTER United’s

£40million signing Nemanja Matic is already on song this season after emerging victorious in a clash over his personal terrace tune.

The Serbian midfielder, a transfer from Chelsea, says his favourite song is New Order’s Blue Monday.

It was perfect when he was with the Blues at Stamford Bridge.

But Old Trafford’s cheeky matchday chant masters wanted UB40 and Neil Diamond classic Red Red Wine to be the 29-year-old’s own match day tune, altering the chorus to Red Red Man.

However, they took an early bath after Matic made it clear he wanted to share the same anthem that met his former United and Serb hero Nemanja Vidic, 35, whenever he touched the ball.

So, like Vidic, the new arrival will be serenaded with the lines “He Comes From Serbia”, to the tune of classic pop song, Go West.

The hit was recorded by US disco legends the Village People in 1979, and was covered by the Pet Shop Boys 14 years later.

Matic is adamant that

1983 hit Blue Monday is his

No.1, but his agent let slip that he would love the fans to repeat the Vidic tribute.

And the star has even challenged supporters by saying: “Hopefully they can sing the same one.”

A United source said: “Every time there’s a new player coming in the fans who decide on the songs get to work.

“There’s no way you could have anything to do with Blue Monday here, with him coming from Chelsea and us having City and Everton down the road.

“It seems Red Red Man was the first choice, but then it made sense to agree with Nemanja because he absolutely idolises Vidic.”
