BECKINGHAM PALACE No.2

- ■ EXCLUSIVE by ISOBEL DICKINSON

HERE’S an exclusive view of David and Victoria Beckham’s new home.

But their dream pad in the Cotswolds is still a work in progress, eight months after they bought it.

The couple paid £6.15million for the Grade II listed property – made up of three barns linked by extensions – in December.

As our pictures show, it is still a construction site after months of wrangling with planning bosses.

A source said: “They hoped to have moved in by now but seem to keep butting heads with the council over what they can and can’t do.”

In April, David, 42, and Victoria, 43, applied for permission to re-slate one roof to create a “unified” look as the tile colours didn’t match.

In July, a new application asked for permission to change the roofs on outbuildings to thatch rather than tiles.

They have also applied to build a swimming pool, a 20-metre croquet lawn, an orchard with apple, pear and plum trees and two vegetable patches.

The Beckhams have already swapped their planned luxury pool in favour of a “natural swimming pond” in the east courtyard.

And their hopes for an outdoor seating area where they can entertain guests were thwarted by planners. Instead, they have submitted plans for a 10ft-wide wooden pergola which can be removed when necessary.

Our source added: “Until the council gives final approval nothing can be done. The place is like a mud bath with diggers parked up all over the place.”

The couple and their four children had hoped to move into the nine-bed home near Chipping Norton this summer but instead spent recent weeks at their home in Los Angeles.

They sold their previous UK home in Hertfordshire – dubbed Beckingham Palace – for £11.5m in 2014.

They also own a £31m house in west London which it is thought they will keep hold of.
