CHELSEA made a nightmare start to the defence of their Premier League title with manager Antonio Conte admitting his players lost their composure.

They conceded THREE goals to Burnley at Stamford Bridge and had TWO players sent off.

Captain Gary Cahiil and Cesc Fabregas (right) were red-carded in a shock 3-2 defeat, in which they were three down at half-time.

Conte said: “The first red card was a key moment and we lost our heads too easily.

“We conceded three goals and we must pay attention and remember that there is the rest of the game to try to change things.

“In the second half we showed great desire and I was very proud of my players.

“But I saw two faces today PAUL HETHERINGTON Chelsea 2 Burnley 3 – one positive in the second half and one negative in the first.

“I also have to learn new formations to play with 10 men and nine!

“I prefer not to comment on the referee’s decisions. Coaches can make mistakes, players can make mistakes and referees can make mistakes.”

Burnley boss Sean Dyche said: “The referee was fantastic in the way he handled the whole occasion, the stadium and the decisions, which my staff tell me he got right.

“We showed our resilience and mentality to see it through.”
