Blaze car mum ‘so beautiful’

-

FRIENDS have paid tribute to a Vietnamese woman whose body was found in a burning car, writes TOM WILKINSON.

They spoke after two men appeared at Newcastle Crown Court charged with murdering Quyen Ngoc Nguyen, 29.

The mum-of-one’s body was found in a burning car near Sunderland in the early hours of Tuesday.

Stephen Unwin, 39, of Houghton, Tyne and Wear, and William McFall, 50, of Blackpool, were remanded in custody at the hearing and will appear before the court on Tuesday.

Members of the Vietnamese community were in the public gallery and one man carried a photograph of Ms Nguyen, who lived in Killingworth, North Tyneside.

Outside court a female friend said: “She was the most beautiful and kind girl. Since she died, people have come from all over the UK, from Birmingham and London, everywhere, just to see her picture. Even now, they cannot see her body.

“She never upset anybody.”

The friend said Ms Nguyen was working after having studied for an MBA in business in the UK. A NUMBER of vehicles were left dangling when a car park wall collapsed yesterday.

Owner NCP said the front facia had “fallen” overnight and road closures were in place.

Structural engineers were at the scene last night assessing the situation.

No-one was injured and no vehicles were damaged as a result of the incident in the centre of Nottingham.

George Cooke, of Scunthorpe, was staying nearby after parking at the site.

He said: “I heard a bang at about 3.30am.

“Cars were over-hanging the car park.

“Thankfully mine was not one. It was a bit of a shock.”
