LUXURY SELL-OFF ON ROLF ESTATE

- By FELICITY CROSS & JIMMY McCLOSKEY

NEIGHBOURS of disgraced Rolf Harris are selling up and moving.

Four houses near the home of the former star – released from jail in May after serving three years – are on the market.

The latest to sell-up are Harris’ next-door neighbours.

The £2.75million five-bed property is just a stone’s throw from Harris’ property on a private estate near Maidenhead, Berks.

A local source told the Daily Star Sunday: “The owners are in their 40s and have a family, so there’s no surprise in the community that they have decided to sell up and move.

“It’s seems as though once they had confirmation he would be back in the house they began the selling process.

“That’s now the fourth house to be put up for sale in the street.”

The grand white property is immediately adjacent to Harris’ home. And the gardens, which both back on to the river, are separated by only a narrow hedge.

The listing brags about the proximity to celebrity chef Heston Blumenthal’s pub The Fat Duck.

Elsewhere on the street, two eightbedroom mansions are also for sale online at almost £8m each.

And down the road, a six-bedroom property described as a “family home” is for sale at £2.5m. Our source added: “Rolf isn’t seen out and about a lot, but for parents his dubious past is enough of a reason for them to want to leave.

“Throw in the fans and the press presence and it’s not a recipe for happy families.” Since his release, Harris, inset outside his home, has kept a low profile and spent his time caring for ailing wife Alwen, 85. She became a virtual recluse while he was in prison, with her illhealth making the eight-hour round trip to HMP Stafford impossible. Harris was sentenced to five years and nine months in jail in 2014 for indecently assaulting four girls, one of whom was aged just seven or eight at the time. He was freed after serving almost three years.

In May this year he was cleared of a further four counts of indecent assault.

Harris is said to be planning to appeal against his convictions. He was recently seen shopping for DIY supplies at a Screwfix store in Maidenhead, Berks.
