Cup, Portuguese Cup, Italian Cup, FA Cup and four League Cups. But Kammy believes the Portuguese will only call it quits IF he got to win the Champions League ONCE more and reached 14 league title wins in his managerial career.

Kammy, 59, said: “Knowing Jose in the way I do, he will be looking at the number of Premier League titles and Champions League titles Alex Ferguson won and will be chasing that target.

“He needs time to build and get players to work to his way. He always does well in his second season at clubs (winning league titles at Porto, Chelsea – in both spells – Inter Milan and Real Madrid). He’s a winner. But I have seen a side to him that many people don’t know about.

“He hardly ever gets a day off from United and yet he took time out of his busy schedule to raise money for people in desperate need by playing in the Grenfell Tower fundraising game.

“He was the only manager out of the 20 Premier League bosses to volunteer his time. But Jose appeared, played in the match and did it in an unassuming manner.”

When Kammy sees the list of top bosses in the Premier League now, he believes England has become home to the elite of the managerial game. He said: “You look at Mourinho, Guardiola, Conte, Klopp, Wenger, Pochettino and Rafa and you are talking about the cream of management.

“The only one outside that grouping who I’d put in there is Diego Simeone – and I am led to believe he will soon be in the Premier League.

“The best players in the world – Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Neymar – may not be here but don’t let anyone tell you that we don’t have the best managers.”
