BE PROPPER ACHIEVEMENT FOR DAVY

- Last five meetings Overall record

victories have seen them jump to 14th in the table.

Propper, whose schoolboy idol was Gunners legend Dennis Bergkamp, said: “The first three games were a little difficult when we were trying to find our way.

“It is faster, you are up and down all the time and it is different to what I have been used to before.

“It is maybe the biggest competition in the world. I thought about Germany as well but Brighton gave me a good chance. They Jan 2015: Brighton 2 Arsenal 3 Jan 2013: Brighton 2 Arsenal 3 Jan 1988: Brighton 1 Arsenal 2 Feb 1983: Arsenal 3 Brighton 1 Sep 1982: Brighton 1 Arsenal 0

Arsenal – 11 wins Brighton – 2 wins Draws – 2 were the ones who wanted me most and that was very important for me, to be at a club that really wanted me.”

Brighton had a baptism of fire, starting the season against Man City, and Arsenal have clicked into gear just as Chris Hughton leads his team to north London.

But Propper added: “We have a plan for them but I won’t tell you what it is until after the game.

“I used to like to watch Dennis Bergkamp. He is a legend. When he played 10 COMMANDMENT: Wenger has used Ramsey outside his usual No.10 role for Arsenal it was always a pleasure to watch him and the team.

“He was a kind of idol. I don’t so much model myself on him now, it is more to see such an intelligent player play.”

Despite the tough challenges ahead, and none will be tougher than today at Arsenal, Propper is sure Brighton can stay up.

He said: “The guys feel that, especially when you see the progress we have made in the last couple of games, I just hope we can keep it that way. We will have to take points from teams where we need to. It’s not that we can’t take points there but it will be more difficult.

“We must enjoy going to The Emirates and not be scared.”

On the international front, Holland are currently third in Group A and beating Belarus on Saturday is a must with France a point clear at the top.

Propper said: “Hopefully we can go second. The dream is stay in the Premier League and reach the World Cup finals.”
