CARLY COMEBACK HOPES DASHED
GEMMA Atkinson has confirmed there are no plans for her to return to Emmerdale.
When the actress walked away from the soap earlier this year it was reported she was taking an “extended break”.
But months on there is still no comeback in the pipeline.
Gemma, who played Carly Hope, said: “I’ve no idea what I’ll do next after Strictly. I don’t really mind if I’m doing acting, so long as I enjoy what I’m doing.
“I’m loving doing radio presenting at the moment so I’m going to keep doing that for a bit longer. I’d love to go back to Emmerdale at some stage. They have left the door open to me. I miss the cast but I don’t miss the commute to Leeds every day.
“I think that after Strictly I’ll want a nice holiday first!” Gemma shot to fame in 2001 playing sexy Lisa Hunter on Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks.
And she has hinted she could be the latest favourite to make a comeback on the show.
She said: “I’d never say never to Hollyoaks. It was the first job I ever did.
“I absolutely loved it. The time at the minute isn’t right but down the line…I’d never close the door on it.
“It’s because of that show that I’m here.”
