‘Rate my voice, not heritage’
TRACYLEANNE Jefford is hoping to change the public’s perception of gypsies.
The jazz singer faced discrimination growing up within a travelling community.
But the mum-of-three, 34, said she is hoping ITV viewers will judge her on her voice, not her background.
She said: “As soon as someone hears the word ‘traveller’ or ‘gypsy’ they think the worst, but there is good and bad with everybody.
“I want the public to see a traveller girl following her dreams. We can’t all be tarred with the same brush.
“I’m the type of person who likes to mix with everyone, regardless of their background.”
Tracyleanne applied for the show after divorcing her husband of 17 years, who she caught cheating.
She has since turned her life around and lost over five stone.
The wannabe added: “Hopefully the public will love me for me.” KEVIN Davy White only applied for The X Factor after failing to get through on The Voice.
The Parisian auditioned for the French version of The Voice but no coaches “turned” for him.
Kevin, 29, a finalist with Nicole Scherzinger as his mentor, said: “They said I didn’t show off all my range enough.
“It didn’t affect my confidence it just made me more determined. That’s why I auditioned for X Factor.” HUNKY Matt Linnen almost didn’t audition for X Factor over fears of being a pop flop.
The finalist, 28, had a recording contract in 2014 with rock band Vox Empire.
Last night Nicole Scherzinger gave the dad-of-three a second chance of fame.
But the plasterer, from Southend, Essex, said: “I had to be talked into applying. I never thought I’d be right for the show coming from a rock band background.”
