Riyad Mahrez beginning of the second half. Butland turned over an effort from Mahrez, who also shot just wide before putting The Foxes ahead on the hour.
That was just a minute after Schmeichel had denied Stoke with an outstanding save to keep out a Ryan Shawcross header.
For his goal, Mahrez easily skipped away from Erik Pieters and Kevin Wimmer, then Butland couldn’t keep out the winger’s left-foot strike.
But just four minutes after coming on as a substitute, Crouch scored with a trademark header from Shaqiri’s left-wing corner.
Jamie Vardy had a chance to put The Foxes back in front but the England striker dragged his shot wide after turning well.
Vardy then created a chance two minutes from time which Kelechi Iheanacho finished but the Leicester substitute was offside.
Stoke almost claimed all three points in the fourth minute of added time through Kurt Zouma’s powerful header.
Schmeichel, however, reacted superbly to keep the ball out as he dived to his right. R Madley (J Moss 24th) Brighton (A), Man Nov 20
