Terry suffers injury blow

CARLOS CARVALHAL saluted Adam Reach after he sent Sheffield Wednesday on course for victory with an opening goal after just 19 SECONDS.

The Owls tore up the form book to record only their second away victory of the season and move up to 11th – just two points from a play-offs spot.

Aston Villa remain fifth but could be without skipper John Terry for a spell after he left the action with a foot injury.

By then, Sheffield were already 1-0 ahead thanks to Reach’s opening-minute rocket which delighted boss Carvalhal.

He said: “We are very happy with Reach. It’s a goal he deserves. We performed very well, we have our soul, the way we like to play – we are very happy.

“We had a plan and the players did absolutely what they must do.” Fellow former Middlesbro­ugh man Jordan Rhodes made it two before the break. Chris Samba’s last-minute reply was too little, too late for Villa.

Manager Steve Bruce feared former England captain Terry may be set for a spell on the sidelines.

He said: “It looks like it’s going to be a while. We think he’s broken a metatarsal in his foot.”

Bruce’s side went into the game with six wins from their previous eight games.
