Bruno’s ‘ghost’

BOXING legend Frank Bruno claims he is still “haunted” by pictures taken of him with Jimmy Savile.

The star destroyed photographs showing him cosying up to sick Savile and Yorkshire Ripper Peter Sutcliffe at Broadmoor hospital where the television personality was a regular visitor. Bruno, 55, says he never wants a photograph of him with Savile reprinted again.

The former heavyweight champ said after being treated in hospital for bipolar disorder he became disgusted with himself over his friendship with Savile.

He said: “I had to come to terms with a sickening truth – the fact that Jimmy Savile, a person I’d called a friend for more than 20 years, was in fact a monster.”

Bruno added that even after he destroyed the photos showing him and Savile, the paedophile’s “ghost” still kept him awake at nights.
