Canna does it
Italy 19 Fiji 10
FLY-HALF Carlo Canna contributed 11 points as Italy claimed a hard-fought win over Fiji in Catania, which ended a nine-match losing streak for the hosts.
Both teams scored just a solitary try, with prop Simone Ferraria going over for Italy in the 28th minute and Waisea Nayacalevu dotting down for an important score right before the break for the visitors.
However, it was Canna who slotted two penalties during the third quarter to keep Italy in front.
Replacement Ian McKinley – who six years ago had retired after losing the sight in his left eye – then slotted another three-pointer in the 80th minute to finally secure the victory.
