Hughton wants 6 of the best from stars

BRIGHTON boss Chris Hughton believes the next six weeks will make or break their season.

The Premier League’s new boys have surpassed all expectations and been one of the surprise packages of the 2017-18 campaign.

This is their first season in the top flight since being relegated from the old First Divison in 1983 and survival is undoubtedly the priority.

But their schedule next month sees them face Liverpool, Tottenham and Chelsea, where any decent haul of points could see them begin to aim a little higher.

Brighton take on Stoke tomorrow night and Hughton (right) said: “We’re on a good run in recent weeks and the two away wins over West Ham and Swansea City are brilliant because at this level victories on the road are hard to come by. “We’re up against a resilient side in Stoke so we’ll have to be at our best. “Going into the break with the win at Swansea was massive because we knew the schedule that was coming up over the next six weeks and into the Christmas and new year. “There’ll be a period that will test us and give us an idea of where we are, but we knew that was coming and we have to be prepared for it – whether that’s over the upcoming weeks or in the latter half of the season.

“We’ve surpassed my expectations and I’m delighted.” Wenger’s eye in Watford’s 2-1 win over the Gunners last month and the fact he plays on the left for Marco Silva’s men, who face West Ham today, makes him even more attractive to the North Londoners.

Wenger knows Arsenal’s regular in that position, Alexis Sanchez, is leaving either in January or the summer and finding a replacement for the Chilean remains an absolute priority. Monaco ace Thomas
