DAVINA: I’M VERY SORRY TO SAY WE’VE SPLIT

-

She now could face a battle over her £10million fortune and a custody tussle if they decide to divorce.

The couple have three children together – Holly, 16, Tilly, 14, and Chester, 11.

A source close to the pair said that no-one else was involved in the split. Speaking about the split for the first time, Davina revealed: “I am very sad to say that Matthew and I have separated.

“Our amazing children are our number one priority, above everything else.” The marriage was considered one of the strongest in showbiz and their bombshell announcement will shock fans. A devastated Davina said the family was going through “a difficult time”. Hunky Matthew was a presenter in the 90s but put his TV career on hold when he got together with Davina. She has since become one of the most famous faces on TV, hosting shows including Big Brother, The Jump and Long Lost Family.

Davina is said to have a net worth of over £2m as well as a property empire worth £8m.

In 2015 Davina and Matthew renewed their wedding vows in Las Vegas. She later admitted they had sought marriage counselling but insisted the sessions had “worked brilliantly”. Pals of the couple are said to be “shocked” after being told about the break up. Last week Davina hinted she was having personal problems when she posted an emotional quote on her Instagram page that read: “Every morning we get a chance to be different. A chance to change. A chance to be better. Your past is your past. Leave it there. Get on with the future part.” Davina, who is also known for her fitness DVDs, once controversially said that women should have an active sex life with their husbands – even if they were “absolutely exhausted” – to avoid men having affairs.

The star, who has battled drug addiction in the past, also once said her marriage to Matthew was her greatest achievement. She added: “For my husband to have endured quite a few years of being called Mr McCall when his name is Mr Robertson – that is a kick in the nuts.”
