Footie legend’s son binges on ‘laughing gas’ in street CALUM HIPPY CRACK SHOCK

- ■ by JIMMY McCLOSKEY & EMILY HALL

CALUM Best inhales “hippy crack” from a balloon on a night out.

The shocking pictures are sure to alarm his fans and staff at the addiction charity of which he is a patron.

Calum – son of footie legend George Best – works with the National Association for Children of Alcoholics (NACOA).

The reality star was snapped inhaling nitrous oxide in south London last week.

Our exclusive video shows the 36-year-old shouting, “Too many men, too many men” in his Californian accent outside Greenwich’s Studio 338 nightclub at 1am on Sunday.

He then dances across a street corner as a man fills balloons from a silver canister.

The substance is not illegal to use but his antics come 18 months after the supply of nitrous oxide – laughing gas – was banned under the Psychoactive Substances Act.

Calum goes on to joke the grubby scene is “like a commercial” for the gas. Moments later he is seen getting another hit from a blue balloon.

An onlooker who witnessed the scene told the Daily Star Sunday: “Knowing who his dad is, it seems pretty sad that he’s out there getting f **** d himself.

“I walked past him and he was there for five minutes getting high on the pavement.

“They were giggling casually, just being silly. They didn’t care. He was just doing his thing.”

Calum has previously told how his 59-year-old dad’s death from drink-related organ failure in 2005 sent him off the rails.

He said: “I had years of grief. Constant f***ing grief.

“There was a time right after I lost my old man, from 24 to 27, where I drank every day and I did drugs and slept around and I built a horrible reputation for myself.”

His tumble off the wagon is sure to worry bosses at NACOA, where Calum has won plaudits for encouraging other children with alcoholic parents to talk to counsellors.

His dad hit the bottle to cope with the pressure of being signed to Manchester United aged 15. He was an alcoholic long before Calum was born in 1981.

George divorced Calum’s mum Angie when he was five. He was taken to Los Angeles and lived with the singer Cher after she hired Angie as a personal trainer.

Former Coronation Street star Michelle Keegan, 30, and Prince Harry, 33, are among other celebs who have used nitrous oxide.

Hollywood actress Demi Moore reportedly had a seizure in 2012 after a “hippy crack” binge.

We approached Calum’s spokesman for a comment last night but had no response.
