Last-gasp Josh piles pressure on Slutsky

- By STEVE MORGAN

JOSH BROWNHILL grabbed a last-minute winner as Bristol City came from 2-0 down to increase the pressure on under-fire Hull boss Leonid Slutsky.

Fraizer Campbell and Jarrod Bowen put the Tigers in control and on course for their first win in six games.

But the Robins hit back hard with Aden Flint, Bobby Reid and Brownhill scoring in the final 22 minutes for Lee Johnson’s high-flyers.

Slutsky has won just four of his 19 league games since replacing Marco Silva in the summer and the result leaves Hull just above the drop zone.

The Russian said: “For now it is very difficult to speak, not about my job but about today’s match.

“I can’t think about the future now, about my job.”

Bristol started brightly with Marlon Pack drilling a 20-yard shot just over the bar.

But Hull worked their way into the game and Bowen produced the one moment of quality in the first half with a teasing cross which Campbell bundled home in the 33rd minute.

Hull began to turn the screw after the break and in the

61st minute Bowen latched on to Markus Henriksen’s header and slammed home from close range.

Bristol pulled a goal back as Flint finished into an empty net following a goalmouth scramble, after Tigers keeper Allan McGregor failed to punch Niclas Eliasson’s free-kick clear.

And the Robins levelled in similar circumstances in the

79th minute. This time it was Reid who benefited from some slack marking to poke home Jamie Paterson’s free-kick from close range.

Hull tried to hit back immediately but Kevin Stewart saw a half-volley fly over the bar.

And it proved costly when Brownhill rifled into the corner of the net from distance for a dramatic

89th-minute winner. Robins boss Johnson said: “We were terrible for the first

55 minutes, it just wasn’t us. “We have got a special team, personalities and character to come back from that kind of performance and score three.”
