Grigg back on fire as Wigan take top spot

PAUL COOK’S Wigan moved to the top of table thanks to a 3-1 victory over Rotherham, with Will Grigg leaving his mark on the game.

The striker got his first goal since September to fire the Latics ahead, helping them make it back-to-back league wins.

David Ball equalised for the Millers but Alex Bruce put the visitors back ahead just before the half-hour mark, while Michael Jacobs (below) added a third by firing home after Grigg tested the keeper.

Nsiala’s second-half own goal made the difference in a 1-0 defeat to Bradford, who climbed up to fourth.

Rochdale moved out of the relegation zone as Calvin Andrew and Callum Camps scored in a 2-0 win against Peterborou­gh.

Wes Thomas scored a first-half equaliser as Oxford got a share of the spoils from a 1-1 draw at Southend after Simon Cox had opened the scoring.

AFC Wimbledon sit outside the drop zone on goal difference as they were beaten 2-1 by Walsall, who went two up through Erhun Oztumer and Amadou Bakayoko before Lyle Taylor reduced the deficit.

Doncaster turned it around to claim their first league win in four after going behind to a Chuks Aneke strike at home to MK Dons. John Marquis’ 54th-minute header and a Matty Blair strike saw them win 2-1.

Elsewhere, Fleetwood’s derby against Blackpool finished goalless as did Oldham’s trip to relegation-threatened Gillingham and the clash between Northampto­n and Bury.
