JAMES Norton leads the cast in the biggest drama of the new year. He plays troubled Alex, the son of a Russian mafia boss who is desperate to escape his criminal ties.

But he faces resistance from Mexican cartels, Pakistani drug lords and Balkan smugglers. The BBC teamed up with US network AMC to produce this eight-parter, starting tomorrow. The budget is sky-high, with millions spent on each episode, and filming took place in Moscow, Istanbul, Tel Aviv, Croatia and Mumbai.

Mariya Shukshina and

Juliet Rylance are in the cast. HOW long could you last if you went on the run? Nine hopefuls are out to prove they can outsmart the authorities as Hunted returns for a third series.

If they avoid capture for 25 days they will get a share of the £100,000 prize money. But the show’s elite hunters will do everything they can to track them down with the help of drones, sniffer dogs and helicopters. HISTORICAL dramas don’t get much bigger than this. Sky Atlantic’s latest big budget drama is set in 43AD and sees Celtic tribes going to war with the Roman army.

An all-star cast includes David Morrissey, Zoe Wanamaker and Mackenzie Crook.

When the show was revived last year it faced criticism from fans. But stars Gillian Anderson and

David Duchovny have promised the new episodes will be thrilling.

The plot this time around sees Mulder bonding with his dad, played by William B Davis. SARAH Lancashire is back doing what she does best…gritty drama. Fans will see her starring as Miriam, a social worker at the centre of a police investigation when a girl goes missing on a supervised visit.

Writer Jack Thorne based the script on his own mum’s experiences of working in care.

Lucian Msamati plays the missing girl’s grandad and Lia Williams is her foster mum. WITH Kris Marshall gone, Ardal O’Hanlon has taken over as the main man. And as joker DI Jack Mooney he will face a string of intriguing cases in the new series.

There’s a death at a poker tournament and another suspected murder in a reggae band.

Guest stars include Simon Callow, Sian Gibson and Mark Benton. THIS has to be TV’s toughest show…Ant Middleton and Co are back to see if another bunch of hopefuls have what it takes to be in the special forces regiment.

Ahead of the launch on January 7, he warned: “Every human is breakable.”

This time the action takes place in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco. TELLY’S biggest drama is back for its seventh series and its writers are still tackling sensitive topics.

This time we’ll see Leonie Elliott joining the cast as nurse Lucille, the first West Indian midwife on the team.

Fans will see her facing racism from some of Poplar’s residents. Favourites including Judy Parfitt and Helen George are back. The show is so popular the BBC has already commissioned series to air in 2019 and 2020.
