Wembley can Harry Spurs to FA Cup glory

HARRY WINKS reckons the Wembley factor will work in Tottenham’s favour in their bid for FA Cup glory.

But the England ace (right) accepts that it can only count if they reach the semi-finals, which are staged at the national stadium, for a second successive year.

Much has been made of Spurs’ struggles since their switch to Wembley while their new White Hart Lane ground is completed.

Despite boasting a 100 per cent record in the Champions League, Spurs have dropped 11 points from 11

And that will give them an edge should they progress to the FA Cup last-four once again after losing 4-2 to Chelsea last year. Winks, 21, said: “We have had a lot of experience and exposure here this season. “We now know how the ground is and what the atmosphere is like.

“We can see it as an advantage – but we’ve got to get to that stage before we can even talk about it.”

Spurs must see off League One Wimbledon to get there with Winks expected to face the Crazy Gang despite a persistent ankle injury.

He added: “You can never be sure as the magic of the cup has proven many times. Anything can happen.

“But as long as we approach this game in the right manner – and win it – hopefully we should have no trouble.”
