Meghan fancies fries for big day

- ■ EXCLUSIVE by JAMES DESBOROUGH

HARRY and Meghan are set to say FRY DO on their big day – with lashings of French fries being served at their reception.

The couple’s nuptials will be the first royal wedding where the skinny chips will be offered.

Meghan is a huge fan of the fast food and admits that it is her most beloved “cheat”.

The actress told friends that she loves the dish and vowed to chomp on fries after the ceremony.

The 36-year-old had her favourite potato snack at her first wedding to ex husband Trevor Engelson in Jamaica in 2011.

Meghan is very careful about what she eats, but fries are a “weakness” and a weekend treat.

The nuptials are planned for Windsor Castle on May 19.

A friend in Los Angeles revealed: “This will be the first royal wedding to have fries served. Meghan loves them as a treat and has planned to have them dished up at her wedding. “She told friends that she wanted them at her wedding before and is sure to have them again.

“It may not be the norm at royal banquets but these are changing times and this is the modern monarchy.

“Meghan is a very keen foodie and prides herself on being able to cook and prepare dishes.

“So we expect her to have a say and involvement in what meals will be dished up. If the fries aren’t at the main wedding breakfast they will be served at the reception.” Meghan has many friends who are in the restaurant business and dated Canadian chef Cory Vitiello. Even though Meghan boasted that while she enjoys keeping in shape through running and green juice diets on work days, at weekends she loves to binge on fries and wine. “I’m a foodie so on the weekends all bets are off and I let go and splurge. I like to eat vegan during the week, but I cannot deprive myself of my favourite foods.

“I could eat French fries all day. And I love pasta. I love carbs – who doesn’t love a carbohydrate? “But of course, when I’m filming, I’m conscious of what I eat.

“It’s all about balance. Because I work out the way I do, I don’t ever want to feel deprived.

“I feel that the second you do that is when you start to binge on things. It’s not a diet – it’s lifestyle eating.

“The same goes for wine. Of course I’m going to have that glass of wine – it’s delicious and I enjoy it. Do the things you enjoy within reason. Know your body and what works for you and you’ll be fine.”
