All about the act for Geri!

DANCING

On Ice looked more like a scene from Casualty after skating star Ale Izquierdo was injured in training for the live show.

The brunette was rushed to hospital after taking a heavy tumble on the ice as she rehearsed a lift with her rugby star partner Max Evans yesterday. Ale has been told by doctors to rest for 24 hours and is now recovering at home.

It is “touch and go” whether she and Max will be able to compete in tonight’s show. GERI Horner says contestants don’t need to be amazing singers to do well on her new talent show.

The Spice Girl, 45, is a judge on BBC series All Together Now, which kicked off last night.

In an exclusive chat, she said: “Sometimes they can’t sing and that’s OK because it’s a performance. Song choice plays a factor.

“There are some contestants that aren’t the best singers. There were these two guys who weren’t the greatest but were so much fun. “During filming there were quite a few singers that couldn’t sing well, but I stood up for them because it’s about how they make you feel. In life we don’t remember what you said or what you did but how you made people feel.”

Contestants on All Together Now sing in front of a panel of 100 judges – and the more of them who sing along with the performer, the higher they score. Geri has performed around the world as part of the Spice Girls but admitted she wouldn’t have the guts to face the judges.

She said: “I couldn’t do it. I’m always scared. With this show it’s quite instant in terms of what they are looking for. It’s quite gladiatorial.”

Geri became close to her fellow judges, which include a choir master, cabaret singer and a drag queen. She even penned a good luck card for all 99 of them.

Geri said: “I had a great time and they were long hours over 10 days. By the end of it you really do know each other and miss them. I miss the spirit of it…it was a brilliant atmosphere.”

Geri has judged on American Idol, The X Factor and Australia’s Got Talent in the past.

But All Together Now is her first big telly gig in years.
