Perv had NHS help at centre full of kids

BEAST Venables was treated for four years for depression and heavy drinking because he couldn’t cope with life outside prison.

The child killer – who daily drank a bottle of vodka – was regularly seen by psychiatric staff at an NHS hospital.

Venables began seeing an expert after he was freed from prison in 2013.

He had been jailed following his first conviction for possessing child abuse images. Venables – who has a secret new identity – was having regular £60-an-hour sessions at the hospital unit, with the taxpayer picking up the bill.

During his trips he came into regular contact with families and children who knew nothing about his horrific past. A whistleblower said: “It is disgusting that he was allowed to mix with law-abiding people and no one knew who he was.”

They added: “He should be made to carry a large ‘danger’ sign around his neck and not be able to mingle with unsuspecting people when he’s released again.

“It’s obvious what a danger to people he was if he was drinking a lot and finding it difficult to cope with life and form meaningful relationships. The psychiatric sessions clearly did nothing to prevent his offending.” And the source claimed: “The sessions were because he said he was mixed up and unhappy because of what he’d done and he couldn’t work out his sexuality. He obviously just enjoyed wallowing in self-pity because at least he’s still alive – unlike poor James.

“And as for his sexuality, the child abuse pictures speak volumes on that score.”
