KEM Cetinay’s highly anticipated performance on tonight’s Dancing on Ice is hanging in the balance after his skating partner suffered a horrific injury. Professional Alex Murphy badly damaged her ankle in rehearsals on Friday.

Show bosses fear she will be forced to pull out of the contest if she doesn’t recover quickly.

US babe Alex has been under constant supervision from physios, but insiders have said there is a 50% chance she will have to miss tonight’s show.

Frantic producers have lined up a reserve skater for Love Island hunk Kem if she can’t skate.

They are also considering fast-tracking him and Alex to next Sunday’s show.

Our insider said: “This is a nightmare for Kem and Alex. They’d worked really hard on their routine for this week’s show but now everything is hanging in the balance.

“It’s 50/50 whether she’ll be able to perform.”

Bosses are set to make a final decision on whether or not

Alex can perform just hours ahead of the show.

There are concerns that she could suffer another injury live on air and suffer more damage to her ankle.

Kem and Alex have been the surprise hit of the series. He was known for starring on Love Island but is now a front-runner on the ITV show. The pair have twice topped the leaderboard and look set to make the final.

Dancing on Ice continues at 6pm on ITV tonight.
