CHRIS POWELL made it two wins from two as Southend beat leaders Wigan 3-1.

Michael Turner scored early on before MarcAntoin­e Fortune (below) doubled the lead. James Vaughan pulled a goal back, but Southend restored their two-goal advantage through Michael Kightly.

Shrewsbury were unable to take advantage as Plymouth beat them

2-1. The Shrews led 1-0 through Carlton Morris but Jamie Ness and Zak Vyner were the heroes for the visitors.

Blackburn made up ground with their 2-2 draw at home to Oldham.

Duckens Nazon’s first half double led to a Rovers fightback from Charlie Mulgrew and Adam Armstrong.

Rotherham’s 2-1 win moved them to within a point of Scunthorpe.

Joe Newell and Semi Ajayi gave the visitors a

2-0 lead before Lee Novak’s consolatio­n.

Doncaster left it late to draw 1-1 at home to Charlton, as Matty Blair struck in injury time to cancel out Patrick Bauer’s first-half opener.

Gillingham also left it late for a point against Peterborou­gh. The Posh led through Danny Lloyd’s goal but Max Ehmer equalised in added-on time.

MK Dons lost two late goals against Portsmouth in a 2-1 defeat. Ike Ugbo’s first-half goal was cancelled out by late efforts from Matt Clarke and Conor Chaplin.

Timothee Deing opened the scoring as Bradford drew 2-2 with Bury before Nathan Cameron equalised. Shay McCarton looked to have won the game but George Miller secured a draw.

Bristol Rovers came from a goal down to beat Oxford 2-1. Kyle Bennett cancelled out Joe Rothwell’s opener before Ellis Harrison scored the winner.

Armand Gnanduille­t earned Blackpool a point in a 2-2 draw with Walsall. Joe Edwards gave Pool the lead before Nathan Delfouneso levelled. Jon Guthrie poked the visitors ahead before Gnanduille­t’s equaliser.

Northampto­n won 3-1 at AFC Wimbledon. Matt Grimes gave the visitors the lead before Adedeji Oshilaja’s equaliser. Matt Crooks and Daniel Powell wrapped up the win.
