-

JORDAN CLARK scored twice as Accrington continued their surge up the table with a 2-0 win at Coventry.

The midfielder (below) netted the opener in the fifth minute before adding a second on the hour mark to secure in-form Stanley’s seventh win in eight games.

They jumped two places up to second, leaving them six points behind Luton, who were held to a

1-1 draw at Stevenage. The Hatters appeared to be heading for victory courtesy of James Collins’

85th-minute penalty, only for Danny

Newton to equalise. Wycombe dropped to third after a

1-1 draw with fellow promotion contenders Exeter at St James Park.

Lloyd James saw his

12th-minute opener cancelled out by Marcus Bean in the second half.

Notts County missed the chance to move into the top three after Alex Nicholls’ late winner gave bottom-placed Barnet a

1-0 home triumph. Crawley recorded a fourth consecutive win courtesy of a 3-0 success at home to Grimsby, who have now gone 12 games without a win.

Jimmy Smith opened the scoring from the penalty spot on the stroke of half-time before Karlan Ahearne-Grant and Enzio Boldewijn moved Harry Kewell’s side to four points off the top seven.

Matty Taylor’s first-half goal was enough for Swindon to secure a 1-0 win over fellow promotion chasers Mansfield at the County Ground.

Mohamed Eisa scored a hat-trick as Cheltenham hammered Port Vale 5-1 at Whaddon Road. Elijah Adebayo and Will Boyle were also on the scoresheet against a Vale side who had equalised in the first half through Tom Pope’s penalty.

Crewe moved three points above the relegation zone following a goalless draw against Yeovil at Gresty Road.

Colchester missed the chance to gain ground on the top seven after Jamie Devitt cancelled out Courtney Senior’s opener to secure a 1-1 draw for Carlisle at Brunton Park.

Morecambe had their relegation battle with Chesterfield postponed.

The fixture between Forest Green and Newport also fell victim to a waterlogged pitch.
