ROBBIE’S ON AND OFF DAY

- ■ by

JOE SCHMIDT’S Ireland made it two wins out of two but saw Tadhg Furlong and Robbie Henshaw limp off injured in Dublin.

Prop Furlong has a knee injury while Henshaw suffered a shoulder problem.

Good work from Conor Murray helped Henshaw (right) open the scoring from close range in the 11th minute.

Murray joined the Leinster centre on the scoresheet when he nipped round the side of the Italian defence after smart play from Jack Conan.

And it was 21-0 after 21 minutes when Bundee Aki notched his first international try, set up by Jacob Stockdale and sub Andrew Porter.

Keith Earls claimed a fourth touchdown to secure a bonus point and his place as third BRENDAN KEANE Ireland 56 Italy 19

highest try-scorer in Ireland’s history.

And the carnage continued after the break when Henshaw intercepted Sergio Parisse’s pass to score his second try only to be injured diving to the line. Rory Best grabbed a rare try in the 53rd minute and Stockdale added two more in the 60th and 70th minutes.

Italy fought back with a great score from Tommaso Allan after some clever footwork from Tomasso Castello.

And it was 49-14 when Parisse set up Edoardo Gari for his seventh international try.

Stockdale and Matteo Minozzi swapped late scores giving the Ulster winger seven tries in six internationals.
