Rylan to host as Little Brother returns

- ■ by ED GLEAVE

BIG Brother’s Little Brother is being revived by Channel 5, we can reveal.

Bosses reckon bringing back the early evening spin-off will be a hit with viewers.

The switch is part of their plan to take Big Brother back to basics this summer. It means late-night partner show Bit On The Side will be axed but Rylan Clark-Neal is set to stay to host the new programme.

A show source said: “Ratings for Bit On The Side have dropped in recent years. It is felt that it has had its time.

“Channel 5 now want Big Brother’s spin-off to be like it was years ago. So it makes sense to bring back Little Brother.”

Big Brother’s Little Brother ran for nine years during BB’s time on Channel 4. Hosts included Dermot O’Leary, George Lamb and Emma Willis. Our source added: “BB’s spin-off show will now air before Big Brother each night.

“It will be a more relaxed affair without any swearing or the naughty games people often saw on Bit On The Side.”

We told last month how BB will go back to its roots for this summer’s run.

The show’s contract with Channel 5 expires later this year meaning it could be its last series on the network. Our source added: “Big Brother is getting a complete revamp. Producers know if they can make it a hit again they have a chance of saving the show.”

The current contract also includes one more run of Celebrity Big Brother, which is expected in August.

Stars rumoured to be taking part include ex-Corrie babe Georgia May Foote, comedy duo The Chuckle Brothers and reality star Charlotte Dawson.
