KLOPP’S BAGGIES RAGE

- By STEVE MILLAR

JURGEN KLOPP saw red last night on a day when Mo Salah celebrated equalling the scoring feat of superstars Alan Shearer, Cristiano Ronaldo and Luis Suarez.

The Liverpool boss thought another Egyptian, West Brom defender Ahmed Hegazi, should have been sent off for his clash with Danny Ings (below).

Klopp believed his team should have been awarded a first-half penalty when Craig Dawson tangled with Ings in the box and he did not think there was a foul which led to the Baggies’ equaliser from a free-kick.

Oh, and the Anfield supremo also thought the Hawthorns pitch was too dry and should have been watered before the 2-2 draw.

So he was not in the best of moods when finally asked about Salah, whose 31st

Premier League goal of the season equalled the 38-game record held by Shearer,

Ronaldo and Suarez.

Klopp said: “Was it a penalty? Yes. We agree and

Hegazi on Ings it is a red card.

You see it. I see it. But that’s not important. It is only important what the gentleman with the whistle says about it. “We cannot change it. We are the better team and we didn’t win. They are all happy. We are not. “I’m a big football fan and you have to do everything to create the best circumstances for all the boys to deliver.

“You let the home team decide if they water the pitch or not. It’s also dangerous for injuries if the pitch is really dry.

But to be clear I would have said nothing about that – probably – if we had won.

“And Mo? I’m happy for him. I would have loved to talk about this detail if we won but we didn’t.”
