Robins rocking after Tigers show teeth

- By MATT FREEMAN

JOE BRYAN grabbed an injury-time equaliser for the Robins in a 10-goal thriller – but the draw dealt a major blow to their play-off hopes.

Fraizer Campbell slid home an 87th-minute goal to put Hull in front after they had twice fought back from two goals down.

But during six minutes of stoppage time Bryan cut in from the left to net with a low drive.

There was still time for Robins goalkeeper Frank Fielding to save from Abel Hernandez as a crazy game reached a costly conclusion for the hosts.

City head coach Lee Johnson said: “We are all a bit shell-shocked.

“Our attacking play deserved even more goals but some of the defending was schoolboy errors.

“We will keep fighting but obviously we now need a storming finish to the season and hope things go our way.”

Harry Wilson fired Hull into a 16th-minute lead but City levelled through Marlon Pack.

Famara Diedhiou then netted either side of half-time for the Robins, firing home with his left foot and then producing a perfectly placed header from Bobby Reid’s chip. But the Tigers were back in it almost immediately as sub Fikayo Tomori headed against a post and the ball went in off Fielding for an own goal.

In the 64th minute Reid ran on to a through ball to slot his 21st goal of the season.

But still Hull refused to buckle and the impressive Wilson got it back to 4-3 with a 30-yard free-kick.

Hernandez made it 4-4 when he fired home a low cross from fellow sub Kamil Grosicki.

Tigers boss Nigel Adkins said: “Of course I am not happy to concede five and there were some really poor ones from our point of view.

“But we’ve not been beaten by a team keen to get into the play-offs.”
