TOTTENHAM MATCH RATINGS 6 6 6 6 6 6 6 7 6 6 6

FINAL PUSH: Jesse Lingard boosted his England claims at Wembley Let down by his defence for United’s equaliser. He never expected United’s smallest man to head home. Give Pochettino credit for picking him for cup matches. Reliable. The England full-back never wasted a single opportunity to attack. Defended well, attacked better. Needed to be at his best when United upped their game. Hit a magnificent raking pass to Eriksen which created Tottenham’s opening goal. Lukaku and Sanchez never allowed him to truly settle but was solid throughout. At least a foot taller than Sanchez, he allowed the United forward to sneak in and head an equaliser. Lucky not to give away a penalty when he blatantly pushed Lingard. Caught wanting when Sanchez headed United’s equaliser. But he is a fine defender and soon got to grips with the game, despite being up against in-form Sanchez. Subbed. Solid. Unflappable. Got his tackles in and kept attack flowing. Was unlucky with a long-range shot that hit a post. Booked for a silly foul on Lingard. Missing for long periods during the first half. Rarely imposed his quality on the game and was a bad miss for Spurs, for whom he usually shines. Subbed. Does he ever have a bad game? He is Tottenam’s engine room, their go-to-guy for all occasions and his pass for their opening goal was sublime. As ever. Put some trainers on him and he would probably win the London Marathon today. Never stopped running and probing. Has a great engine. Booked for a foul on Sanchez. Had United stretching from the start, firing a shot after 30 seconds. He looked as if he would run riot but United’s defence found feet and kept him quiet for long periods.

?? ?? Fiery, back to his best. His opening goal was trademark Alli. Arrived late, leaving defenders bewildered. Never stopped testing United’s defence.
